*Club domestic league appearances and goals |
Marcel de Ruggiero dos Santos (born 10 June 1943) , better known by his nickname Marcelinho, is an Atrescan professional football manager and former player who is currently the manager of LegaUno club Maccarese, taking over from Adam Brousseau on December 5, 2019. He is widely regarded by many as one of the greatest players of all time.
Marcelinho was a quick and skillful player who played on the wing. He began and spent most of his career with Atrescan side Atletico Roussina, whom he won eight domestic titles with. As a player, Marcelinho tallied 202 goals for Roussina, one of the largest amounts of goals scored for a single club by a single player in all of Asura. He moved to Vidorian club Victoria CF in 1976, who he won one Grand Serie title with, he moved back to Atresca the following year, this time for US Monte Sora. After a short stint there, he moved to Laterna Cardinaux until 1981, after which he resigned with Atletico Roussina for two matches. He started both, and scored in his final match for the club in a 2–0 win over Aleanto Calcio. Marcelinho also won seven Aeian Cups between 1964 and 1980, a record. He retired in 1981 as one of the most decorated players in history.
He began managing his old club in 1990, winning five domestic titles with them before he signed with Dynamesk SK in 2000, winning 2 Navish Superligas, 2 Mastercupens and 3 Supercups with the club between 2000 and 2010 - now referred to by Dynamesk fans as the "Marcelinho era". He moved to Lhedvin in 2010, winning another Mastercupen with them in 2012 and another Superliga in 2013. He signed for AS Rocca in 2013, winning an additional LegaUno with the club before being sacked in 2017 after a run of poor results. In 2019, he signed for Maccarese after the departure of Adam Brousseau. As a manager, Marcelinho has won 6 LegaUnos, 3 Navish Superligas, 3 Mastercupens, 3 Navish Supercups and 2 Coppa d'Etrescias.
