History

The LMNT was founded in 1919, when the LFF (Lyonheimer football federation) was founded. They played their first national team game against Blechingia in 1923, with a 2-0 win.

The first IFA World Cup they played was in 1934, where they reached the round of 16, before being knocked out.

In the 1950s, Lyonheimer had a golden era, winning the IFA World Cup twice in the decade, with Ferenc Askas notably leading the line.
