The 2021 Beatavic earthquake and tsunami, also known as the 2021 Gran Telea tsunami, was a powerful 8.2 magnitude earthquake in the North Samson Ocean off the coast of Beatavic. The subsequent tsunami caused major destruction along the western coast of the country, specifically in the capital city of Gran Telea. 2,837 people died, with tens of thousands more injured and hundreds missing. The quake also affected regions in Artaska, Birnir, and Cylata, though damage was minimal in those areas. It was the most powerful earthquake in Nortua since the 2009 Constantio earthquake, and saw a massive humanitarian recovery and relief effort to rebuild the region.
