HistoryMilitary history of Amenria

The Imperial Amenrian Army (Chinese: 亚洲帝国军队; pinyin: Yàzhōu Dìguó Jūnduì, lit. Asia Empire Army), or simply the Imperial Army is the principle military force of the Empire of Amenria. It consists of the Ground Force, Air Force, Imperial Navy, Imperial Guard, and the Imperial Police. It serves under the Council of Generals, who answer to the Heavenly Emperor as its commander in chief.

The origins of the Imperial Army can be traced to the Third World War, as the Coalition of Heaven and Earth, which was reformed to the Imperial Army as Coalition states joined and merged into the Empire of Amenria.

Stated Mission

On its founding ceremony in 2042, Heavenly Emperor Tianshi stated the mission of the Imperial Army is as follows:

  • The protection of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, internal security and national development of the Empire of Amenria.
  • Safeguarding the country's interests
  • Protection of Multiversal peace and stability
  • Acting as an emergency, last-resort tool of divine enforcement

History

Organization

The Imperial Army is the only official component of Amenria's armed forces, with the paramilitary status of the Noble-aligned combatants seen defending the empire from alien invasions being debatable.

Leadership

The Imperial Army answers to the Council of Generals, whose membership and are drawn from the most accomplished leaders in every branch. There are several positions in this council, namely the Minister and Vice Minister of Defence, the Chief of Joint Staff Department and Chief of Research and Development, with other generals acting as their subordinates in the council with less voting power.

Ranks

Service Branches

The IA encompasses five main service branches (Chinese: 军种; pinyin: jūnzhǒng): the Ground Force, Air Force, Navy, Imperial Guard, and Imperial Police. Following the War of Dusk and Dawn, conscription was discontinued as part of the postwar reforms, but can be reinstated in the future by imperial decree.

Flag and insignia

The IA's insignia is a black square within a larger, white square, both within an even larger black square.

Aside from the war flag, which is the national flag with inverted colours, the Imperial Amenrian Armed Forces uses five flags, one for each service branch. The main feature of these flags are a depiction of one of the Four Auspicious Beasts (with the addition of the Golden Dragon being featured in the Imperial Guard flag) inside a ring, with the exception of the Azure Dragon depicted in the Imperial Police Flag, which is inside a shield instead. These flags share the same dimensions (3:2) as the national flag.

The flag of the Ground Forces consists of the White Tiger facing right in a black ring on a white background, the naval ensign consists of the Black Tortoise facing downwards in a black ring on a blue background, the Air Force depicts the Vermillion Bird in a vermillion ring on a white background, the Imperial Police features the Azure Dragon in a shield on a black background, and the Imperial Guard uses the Golden Dragon in a golden ring on a red background. The colour white on the Ground Forces flag represents metal, the element associated with the entity, virtue, and the Ground Force's emphasis on tanks. The blue in the Navy's flag is meant to represent both the sea and the element water in general, while the blue in the Imperial Police flag represents strength, patience, and altruism. The red in the Air Force Flag represents fire and the red in the Imperial Guard flag represents luck. The gold in the latter flag represents heroism and the Imperial Guard's status as an elite special forces branch.
