The Eastern Anterian Commonwealth (EAC, Communauté d'Anteria Orientale: French, Uorinda gree Yesaf Anteria: Kowy) was a millitaristic and economical alliance between multiple Anterian nations of the East Anteria. Containing six nations, The EAC includes Hylia, Trident Union, Swinas, and Hainekirk, along with the associate economical member Fresian Confederacy. Dedicated to promoting economical and millitaristic cooperation among the eastern nations, the alliance promotes unity and cooperation, among other core values of commerce and a united defensive front. Overtime, it has expanded to provide more benefits to members, including millitary bases, task force, humanitarian aid department, and more. Many consider the alliance brand new and with not as much influence as other, older alliances. However, some point to controversial decisions that have caused the alliance to be on the negative side of other eastern powers outside the alliance.

The alliance was formed in December 14th of 2021 by a joint convention between the leadership of Hylia, Swinas, and Hainekirk. After great deliberation, the United Eastern Alliance was created, with the signing UEA Charter. This included the first terms, which set much of the basis of the alliance. On Decemebr 15th, a day later, the Trident Union applied to join, and was accepted into the alliance as an official member. At first, this was only as an associate member. in february 2022, the alliance is dissolved

Etymology

THe name of the Eastern Anterian Commonwealth was determined after heaby deliberation and voting. Originally, it was named the "United Eastern Alliance", which represented simply how the eastern nations were united. This stayed for quite some time, until in March of 2022, a name change was brought up. There were multiple options, before being re-anylyzed. At the end, there were three options: Maintaing the UEA name, converting to EAC, or naming it "Santiago Treaty Organization" after the Hylian capital. At the end, the second option proposed by the Fresnian Confederation won voting. The word, "commonwealth" is special, as it represents high amounts of unity rather than the word "Alliance".

History

Tri-Nation Conference & Union Joins

On December 14th, 2021, three nations took part in a conference after talks for diplomacy and overall cooperation. In the meeting, consisting of the leaders of Hylia, Swinas and Hainekirk, what started as plans for a loosely-united treaty to promote cooperation, a theme of regional unity and the need to help eachother grow stronger came out. Through the conference, the EAC Charter was written, with multiple conditions and beliefs. Finally, it was signed by the three nations at the end of the confernece, after which it was announced to the public. This came to great excitement by the people, who expected great benefits to be reaped from the alliance. Meanwhile, the Trident Union, a nation which had good relations with Hylia, and at the time was seeking stronger relations with nations nearby, was eager to join. After a quick entry into the Union's "Scaffolding Voting System", the Trident Union applied to join the Eastern Anterian Commonwealth. After the first vote in the legislature, the Union was accepted in an autonomous vote.

Organization

The EAC is divided into a variety of departments and a legislature where delegates vote on varous issues. The Eastern Anterian Commonwealth Legislature controls most major decisions, operating similar to a nation's parliament. Each member nation sends three delegates to the legislature, with the nation's internal systems choosing these persons. These delegates can be withdrawn or deployed at any time. When the secretary general brings up a bill or an issue to the legislature, they will conduct a vote on the issue. Likewise, the legislature can propose a bill to the secretary general, and if vetoed, can make a 4/7 majority vote to override and pass the bill. This is similar to many major representative democracies. The EAC also has many departments, each of which's heads are apointed annually by the delegates. These departments manage smaller affairs of the EAC.
