Androids, also known as robots, droids, synths, are mechanical beings that possessed artificial intelligence. They are used in a variety of roles and environments throughout the Talin Galaxy, often those considered too menial or too dangerous for other species, but also in fields that require extensive specialization and knowledge. Depending on the nature of the work they perform, they possess various degrees of artificial intelligence. Most androids have hard-coded restrictions against harming organics, though notable exceptions include security androids, wardroids, and assassin androids. Androids come in all sizes and shapes, and many of them resemble humanoid organics.
