Namae-nashi (in Dayashinese, 名前なし, b. 1994) is a Themiclesian songwriter, musician, and rapper.
Personal history
Early years
Namae-nashi was born Hidaribara Minushi in 1994 to Dayashinese-Themiclesian parents, Aramakama Mituko (b. 1961) and Hidaribara Otomaro (b. 1960). The mother was both Themiclesian and Dayashinese by birth, since Dayashinese law recognized jus sanguinis, but Themiclesian law jus solis. Her parents emigrated to Themiclesia in the 1920s, during which surging militarism in Dayashina led many prominent and politically-active individuals to leave. The father was born in Themiclesia as well. His parents (Namae-nashi's paternal grandparents) emigrated in 1947, immediately after the Pan-Septentrion War. Though Namae-nashi relayed that this couple emigrated to escape the devastated country, some information has later emerged that the impetus to re-settle in Themiclesia may not be as simple as he suggested.
Namae-nashi grew up in the interior city of Kwang-an (廣安縣), where there was a sizeable Dayashinese diaspora community, which is amongst Themiclesia's leading ones. He enrolled in the Hwanh-hljang Public School (煥昌公學, ~ kowng-hjawk) and graduated at the normal age, having been an active member in the school's music club for his entire time there. Namae-nashi's family spoke Dayashinese, which is also his first language. Some acquaintances reported that Namae-nashi was teased at school for his frequently "inaccurate" speech, even though Namae-nashi himself observed that "nobody spoke particularly accurately"; in his final year, he was involved in a slight altercation in gym class, in which he dislocated a classmate's leg. Namae-nashi graduated from primary school with respectable marks and received a scholarship for his musical talents.
In middle and high school, he invested more time into musical activities. His parents were well-connected within the diaspora community and helped him gain exposure by airing his compositions scheduling him to perform in public houses, in which his work generated considerable interest. Taking advantage of the advent of Internet video, he set up his own website in 2008, which played rap pieces that he wrote and performed. These pieces were not performed in his community due to its culturally conservative disposition. In 2009, Namae-nashi became active on other Internet media and was invited to join a competition for young artists in Dayashina. He placed fifteenth that year, which entitled him to a small prize that "barely paid for the expenses of travelling there". Apparently, at this time, he took an extended excursion for some root-searching and managed to find the site of his grandparents' homes, one of which was destroyed in 1946 by nuclear weapons. After this, his repretoire briefly saw anti-war themed songs flourishing.
Nevertheless, in the months following, his perspectives apparently took a 180° turn, and his first formal record release, in 2011, 3 out of 15 songs were attacked by critics for "strongly pro-war messages". Namae-nashi denied this virulently on social media but did not make an official press response. A few days later, his website, which critics alleged to have hosted some of his earlier songs that espoused the views he now repudiated, suddenly crashed, and Namae-nashi stated this was because his server was attacked by malicious hackers who wished to silence him and his feelings or had "an hopeless case of lefty [sic] auto-victimization [sic]". The relevant ISP was able neither to confirm nor refute this claim. A day later, he revealed that he was enranged and spoke carelessly but did not give his views on Dayashina's role in the PSW as demanded by several critics.

Alcoholism and trafficking
Namae-nashi has been connected with several other problems in his private life. It is not uncommon in Themiclesia for children as young as 5 or 6 to become accustomed to imbibition, though it is rare in Dayashinese communities, where the alcohol of choice is much stronger (18 – 25% ABV, cp. 0.5 – 2% in Themiclesian rice wines). Namae-nashi apparently made it a habit to sell alcohol in his school to classmates for inflated prices, which were stomached due to other Dayashinese families' reluctance to allow minors to consume. To protect his own interests, Namae-nashi managed to gather around a group of friends that dissuaded others from peddling the same products, and over the course of a few years he apparently has accumulated over $20,000 in revenues. This money he used to fund his first set of musical instrument and an upright piano, which he famously dropped on a passing stray cat as a stunt on his 18th birthday.[1] Later, other claims connected Namae-nashi with the Themiclesian Gokudo (極道, gjek-lu′), whom he once ushered to listen to his concerts to make them appear more popular during his public trial before commercial debut. In exchange, the Gokudo expected him to "nod" to their beliefs, with which Namae-nashi very enthusiastically complied.
