The House of del Villar, commonly known as the del Villar family, is a Gran Aligonian family, one of the historical Big Five families, and a branch of the Miramonte-del Villar-Jeque dynasty, one of the most dominant houses of the Most Magnificent Republic of Aligonia. A del Villar was duque of the Republica Magnifica seven individual times. After the Gran Aligonian crisis, the del Villars were stripped of their former position as Dukes of Tarraron, but did not lose any influence in their businesses. They are notable as the part-owners of the Xornal Xeral de Aligonia newspaper of record, the Pontifax line of automobiles, and as full owners of dozens of real estate ventures throughout the archipelago, as well as Sydalon. Through Nicanora del Villar, they are related closely to the House of Abellán, former Princes of the archipelago.
