The House of del Villar, commonly known as the del Villar family, is a Gran Aligonian family, one of the historical Big Five families, and a branch of the Miramonte-del Villar-Jeque dynasty, one of the most dominant houses of the Most Magnificent Republic of Aligonia. A del Villar was duque of the Republica Magnifica seven individual times. After the Gran Aligonian crisis, the del Villars were stripped of their former position as Dukes of Tarraron, but did not lose any influence in their businesses. They are notable as the part-owners of the Xornal Xeral de Aligonia newspaper of record, the Pontifax line of automobiles, and as full owners of dozens of real estate ventures throughout the archipelago, as well as Sydalon. Through Nicanora del Villar, they are related closely to the House of Abellán, former Princes of the archipelago.

Alexandre del Villar

Alexandre Nauticus del Villar (11 August 1958 -) is the current head of the Del Villar family and the former duke of Tarraron, and by extension the island of Tarrarense. First rising to prominence as the chief financeer and backer of Xornal Xeral de Aligonia in the early 1980s, the former Duke went on to become an important voice in pre-abdicatory Gran Aligonian politics, often supporting the interests of the Western Monarchies and vehemently agreeing with the continuation of Latin basing on the archipelago.

His newspaper was vocally against the 2005 anti-monarchy protests, but was initially for the abdication of his brother-in-law, Veremundo Abellán, over very public disagreements in the years leading up to the abdication crisis. This changed when the Xendarmeria turned on the del Villar household in the wake of the Prince's alliance with the leftist AAFT; del Villar escaped the archipelago on a helicopter and sought asylum in Latium, where he remained until Chancellor Montecalvo reversed his predecessor's decision in late 2020. As the former Duke of Tarraron, del Villar remains poltiically active, having notably shied away from supporting the "third way" campaign of Chancellor Artús Montecalvo until a June 2020 meeting with the candidate solidified his support for the center-right candidate.

Alexandre del Villar married Olimpia Miramonte of the powerful Miramonte family in 1985, and is the father of Ambrosio, Leonardo, and Octavia del Villar. He is reportedly on good terms with the vast majority of his extended family sans his sister Nicanora, who, as the wife of ex-Prince Veremundo, shared in the disagreement the two men had. Alexandre was a minor-league Gridiron player in his youth, but quit after tearing several tendons in a controversial tackle during a 1978 playoff game. He is a devout Fabrian Catholic.

Nicanora del Villar

Nicanora Anna del Villar (5 March 1961 -) is the former Princess of Gran Aligonia as the wife of former Prince Veremundo Abellán since 1990. She is the mother of Verucio and Catalia Abellán, and the second-oldest child of Vitor del Villar. She was a notable supporter of Veremundo's policy of hands-off monarchism, which brought her to blows with both her extended family and many in the larger nobility; she is noted as a philantropist,

Hadrian del Villar

DelVillar-Hadrian.jpg

Hadrian Olimpius del Villar (4 March 1962 -) is the youngest son of Vitor del Villar, and a notable member of Gran Aligonia's nascent military, the Gran Aligonian Naval Defense; he was third the chain of command of the broader Xendarmeria before assuming his post as General of the Naval Defense in mid-2020, after the militarization of the Xendarmeria. Despite being under the command of former Director-General of the Xendarmes and Abellán family liason Illiomarius Segarra, Hadrian remained an adamant internal opponent of his policy towards foreign nationals, at times publicly commenting during the abdication crisis that his organziation "[was] being used as an organ of state control, instead of an apparatus to keep order."

Hadrian nevertheless took his oath seriously, presiding over the creation and organization of the Naval Defense throughout 2020; it is speculated he could become the Director-General of the entire Xendarmeria, given the recent firing of Director-General Segarra in the wake of Chancellor Montecalvo's victory in November 2020.

Despite publicly courting several large names in the royal world in the 1990s, Hadrian has remained unmarried since joining the Xendarmeria full-time; he has stated half-jokingly in brief interviews that he is "married to the service", often leading some tabloids to report that he may be a closeted homosexual; other news outlets, including his family's XXA, have rejected that claim, stating simply that "[he] is known to have personal reasons for not seeking a relationship". Past his criticisms of the Director-General, he is generally considered to be an apolitical member of the del Villar family, using his family's motto "Facta non verba" ("Deeds, not words") to answer any question of political persuasion.
