The Champanois People's Army (Liguersien: Armata populara champanèsa, Gaullican: Armée populaire champanoise; APC) is the armed forces of the Socialist Republic of Champania. The Champanois People's Army was formally created in 1938 at the conclusion of the May revolution to succeed the various left-wing paramilitary and mitia forces that participated in the revolution and succeeding civil war.
The APC is made up of three branches: the Land Forces, Army Air Force, and Navy. In times of armed conflict, the coast guard and border guard are also put under its command. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Office of Defence and Civil Protection and is commanded by the Revolutionary Defence Committee headquarted in the Brigançon suburb of Lodeva. The APC utilizes mandatory conscription for all males and, since 1996, all females between the ages of 18 and 36. Conscription periods can vary between 9, 18, and 27 month contracts after completion of basic training. Currently, the APC maintains 190,000 active personnel, its largest ever size in its history.

Mission
The mission of the Champanois People's Army is defined by Declaration of the Founding Principles of State and includes the following:
- defence of the territorial integrity of the state.
- to maintain order and security within the country.
- to provide aid in the event of natural disasters and catastrophes.
Since the nation's involvement in the Lemovician War, the term "defence" has been defined to not only include protection of the borders of Champania proper, but also crisis reaction and conflict prevention, or more broadly as guarding the security of Champania anywhere in the world. In 2019, acting Defence Secretary Lluiç de Montelhs said that "preventative action" qualifies as "defence."
Organization
The Champanois People's Army is composed of three branches:
- The Land Forces (Armata de la terra) with an active strength of 115,000 personnel in the following divisions:
- 1e. Motorized Rifle Division "Cesar Brune"
- 5e. Motorized Rifle Division "Guilhem Marbou"
- 2e. Tank Division "Tibèri Astruc"
- 10e. Motorized Rifle Division "Cassian Depont"
- 6e. Motorized Rifile Division "Ubert Laclède"
- 7e. Motorized Rifile Division "Jaume d'Albret"
- 3e. Motorized Rifle Division "Enric Òrtes"
- 15e. Tank Division "Alphonse Fénelon"
- 11e. Motorized Rifle Division "Auban Castel"
- 18e. Motorized Rifle Division "Marius Gassend"
- The Army Air Force (Fòrças àerienas de l'armata) with an active strength of 60,000.
- The Navy (Fòrça marinha) with an active strength of 15,000.
In times of armed conflict, the Champanois People's Army, more specifically the Land Forces, can reliably double its size through mobilization of reservists. Additionally, the Champanois People's Army could rely on the additional manpower and units from the transfer of the coast guard and border police to the command of the APC. Furthermore, internal security forces and the 180,000 strong Combat Groups of the Proletariat (Grops de combat deu prolètariat, GCP) auxiliary force could be called upon.
The Champanois People's Army is under the command of the Committee for the Defence of the Revolution. The Revolutionary Defence Committee is the collective supreme command of the APC and is charged with handling all matters of national defence, including mobilization planning. It consists of all members of the Generalitat and senior uniformed members from the armed forces and internal security and police forces. The Premier of Champania serves as the Chairperson of the Revolutionary Defence Committee and, as such, serves as the commander-in-chief. During times of war, the Revolutionary Defence Committee becomes the supreme leadership body of the government, replacing both the Generalitat and National Congress.
