Nils Tore Espeseth (Estmerish pronunciation: /ɛs'pəsɛt:/, born March 11, 2002; aged 20) is a Scoverne road cyclist who races for Montecaran team Bergamin-Eùclea–Il Doxe and internationally for Team Scovern. He is known for his endurance, ability to keep strong pace over long stages, and his strong climbs. In 2022, Espeseth won gold in the men's individual road race at the 2022 Summer Invictus Games in Verlois, Gaullica, becoming the youngest-ever cycling medallist in history and the first cycling gold-medallist born in the 21st-century.
Born in Helganes in 2002, Espeseth first competed at the Scoverne Youth Cycling Championships in 2017, where he finished outside the top 10, but returned a year later with a silver-medal finish in the junior road race. Invictus scouts initially saw Espeseth as a rouleur cyclist, but gradually drew attention to his climbing and endurance abilities. He was one of the youngest members of the Scoverne contingent in Verlois and is currently Scovern's youngest medallist at the games.
