FDY-ASG Cohort
The FDY-ASG Cohort is a name given to a group of senior politicians and senior business leaders that were all part of the Free Democratic Youth (Malgrave) and the Ancestral Study Group in a specific period covering the Lost Decade.
History
With the inclusion of a large number of younger cabinet members after the 2014 Malgravean General Election, a series of discussions started to be held in journalistic circles about a name to be given to this new grouping of politicians. In 2015, the Royal Malgravean Times settled upon the FDY-ASG cohort as each new member of this group was a member of the Free Democratic Youth (Malgrave) and the Ancestral Study Group.
A majority of politicians considered to be part of the FDY-ASG cohort are either senior members of the governing Progressive Unity Party, hold powerful positions in state-run companies like MalTec or run opposition parties. In spite of this, the term has received some criticism within Malgrave, as it is seen as indicating that these figures have received their position due to their connections as opposed to their own merit which is a major taboo within the country.
It has also been highlighted that due to the high membership of the Free Democratic Youth (Malgrave) and the Ancestral Study Group that being involved in such a cohort is impossible, especially, for those that want to enter politics or reach a senior level in a state-run company, however, this has been discarded by defenders of the name who just highlight that it is used to group politicians that grew up during the Lost Decade
Katia De Campo, Claudia Donovan, Nadzieja Brzezicki, Seo Yi-kyung, Lotte Hansen and Aurelia Wyrzykowski are considered to be part FDY-ASG Cohort.
