Events

First Day

Most Kurultai participants arrived in Korla on July 10th or 11th. Members were sworn in by the Bogd Gegeen in an hour-long session from 12:00 to 13:00 on July 11th. After the initial swearing-in, members for the party Uniting Mongolia left, claiming the Kurultai was illegitimate as it was not held in Mongolia.

Second Day

Indian PM Narendra Modi competes in the archery event

On the second day (July 12th), three sporting events were held: Mongolian wrestling, horse racing, and archery. The men's and women's wrestling events were won by the Ulan Bator and Khovd teams, respectively, while Samarqand and Ürümqi won the men's and women's horse racing events, respectively, and Lhasa and Kharkorin won men's and women's archery, respectively. The host team of Korla did not win any events. The sporting events were attended by foreign dignitaries, including India's Narendra Modi and Japan's Fumio Kishida. After the games, the foreign dignitaries met with the Bogd Gegeen.

Third Day

The third day, July 13th, was dedicated to coalition formation. The Greater Mongolia Movement, having won the most seats, negotiated with other parties to win support for a renewal of its incumbent coalition with the Central Asian People's Party. At the end of the day, Muharrem Toglayev of the Gurkani Clerical Association was elected as the President of the Kurultai, with Batu Ganbat of the Greater Mongolia Movement and Namgyal Dorje of the Gangs Seng Ge as his deputies, while a tentative Greater Mongolia Movement-led coalition was announced.

Aftermath

After the traditional 3-day meeting in Korla, Kurultai members returned to Kharkorin. On July 22nd, the incumbent cabinet was given a vote of confidence, and the two-year term of the Kurultai began.
