Lucius Plainier is an Aquitaynian Marine general who serves as the Commandant of the Royal Marines. He previously served as the Commander Combatant Command Insula Fera and Lorecia from 2016-2018.

Born in Cape Town, Aquitayne, Plainier graduated from the Royal War College in June 1986 with a Masters of Arts degree in International Relations and Military Strategy. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant following his graduation. After flight training school, he was designated as a naval aviator in 1980. Plainier later went back to the Royal War College as a Colonel to receive a second master's degree in Strategic Studies and Leadership.

In 2022, Plainier was nominated for promotion to general and appointed as Commandant of the Royal Marines by his majesty Samuel I.
