Princess Weiss Anne Thérèse Catharina van der Schnee (born 15 May 1984) is an Atmoran politician and noble who has represented the riding of Westerkwartier—Driebruggen in the House of Representatives of Atmora as a member of the Liberal Party since the 2010 federal election. Schnee serves as the Vice-Chancellor and Minister of National Defence in the Hovenier cabinet following the collapse of the Hresvelg government in 2016.
As Vice-Chancellor and Minister of National Defence, Schnee has had to deal with the military planning of the Winter War. Schnee issuing orders to the Defence Council is responsible for the Atmoran military's defence and demoralisation campaign against Vozhan forces in Atmora. Schnee has faced criticism of her role in the Atmoran bombing campaign in Vozh. Following the Chervyen Armastice, Schnee has ordered the Atmoran military to stand-down and ease the maritime exclusion zone and ordered the National Marechaussee to to maintain the peace in the demilitarised zone.
Early life, family, and education
Princess Weiss van der Schnee was born in Melissant, Lieseltania on 15 May 1984. Her father is Henri-Frans, 13th Prince van der Schnee and Jkvr. Geneviève d'Archigny born into the Schnee family one of the most influential noble families of the Kingdom of Lieseltania. Only a year and half younger than her eldest sister Helène Louisa van der Schnee, the two would grow up in the family estate Paleis d'Schnee in Winterscheid were in 1997 she would attend the Christelijk Gymnasium Elzenhagen in Alexandria.
Weiss would attend the University of Leidschendam in 2002, graduating in 2006 with her Bachelor of Arts in History and in 2008 with Master of Arts in History.
Political career (2011–present)
Weiss in the 2010 federal election contested the Westerkwartier—Driebruggen electoral district against Conservative MP Gertjan Mertz spending ƒ15,597 in campaign expenditures to upset the incumbent MP Mertz. Weiss won her seat in Westerkwartier—Driebruggen, taking office in the 40th Parliament.
