The Royal Glytteronian Navy (Ghaillish: Dubhghorm Ríoga na hGlítteann) is the branch of the Glytteronian Armed Forces responsible for naval operations of the state of Glytter. As of 2008, the RGN consists of approximately 3,900 personnel (9,450 in mobilized state, 32,000 when fully mobilized) and 70 vessels, including 8 heavy frigates, 12 submarines, 1 helicopter carrier, 20 patrol boats, 1 minesweeper, 1 minehunter, 1 mine detection vessel, 4 support vessels and 2 training vessels. The navy also includes the Coast Guard.
History
Organization
In the government, the navy is administrated by and its interests are represented by the Minister of the Navy. Under the Walker Government, the current Minister of the Navy is Maureen Phillips. The navy's fleets are under the command of the Fleet High Commander who is the highest ranking naval official who is assisted by the Second High Commander. The positions are currently held by Admiral Hugh Lully and Rear Admiral Rory McFey respectively.
Furthermore, the navy is organized into naval flotillas, the Coast Guard, and naval schools.
