Chiyangwa also served as Chairman of the Pan-Bahian Cultural Committee, part of the Congress of Bahian States, between 2008 and 2014 and as Mayor of Mambiza between 2004 and 2008. Chiyangwa is a long-standing member of the Garamburan National Party, having joined the party when he entered politics for the first time in 1995.
