Atresca (Atrescan: Etrescia), officially the Kingdom of Atresca (Atrescan: Regno d'Etrescia) is a sovereign state in western Asura consisting of the entire Atresca region as well as a single overseas territory, the city of Troping, on the opposite side of the Asur Sea. With 66 million inhabitants, Atresca is one of most populous states in Asura, and is one of the global powers, being a founding member of various global geopolitical organisations, including the Commonwealth of Democratic Nations. Atresca shares land borders with Midrasia and Aleramia, as well as Aramas through the Troping exclave.

History of the modern Atrescan state can be traced back to the Theuracian Kingdom, a Thurac speaking kingdom which dominated much of the southern Atrescan coast from around 600 BC to the kingdom's Fiorentine conquest in X BC. The region, named Atresci under the Fiorentines, flourished as one of the heartland provinces of the Fiorentine Empire. Vetriolo served as one of the largest cities and inland entrepots of the Fiorentina Proper province of the empire. Trade regularly reached the southern coast of the region and local development increased rapidly under the Fiorentines, but the presence of trade also gave way to many famous and infamous merchants of the area, most notably the Ten Men of Rocca, regarded as the first organised criminal group in the world.
