Princess Alexandra of Ravenna, MC SFN (b. 20 August 1966) is a Latin politician and noblewoman of Ghantish origin, who has been a Latin Senator since 2010 as a member of the Progressive Party. She has served as the Progressive Party Spokesperson for Culture, Media, and Sport since 18 June 2018.
She is the youngest child and only daughter of Prince Victor, Duke of Ravenna and Theofania of Ithaca. In 1990, she married Louis Ferdinand I, Elector of Morinia, then Hereditary Grand Duke of Polnitsa. Her marriage to Louis Ferdinand ended in 1996 with a divorce after rumors of domestic violence and a tumultuous relationship plagued by affairs.
Early life
Alexandra was born on 20 August 1966 at Palatium Ravennae, in Ravenna, as the youngest child and only daughter of Prince Victor, Duke of Ravenna and Theofania of Ithaca. She was educated at Lyceum Ravennae-Sancta Sophia in Ravenna for her primary and secondary schooling. In 1986, she enrolled at the University of St Ambrose-Ravenna where she studied Literature.
She is a princess of the blood in three realms, Ghant, Latium, and Sydalon.
Political career
Alexandra was selected as a Progressive Party list candidate for Senate ahead of the 2010 election. Since joining the Senate, she has been considered one of the more left-leaning members of the Progressive Party.
She was re-elected in 2014, and again in 2017.
On 18 June 2018, Alexandra joined the Progressive frontbench of Flavia Lepera as the party's Spokesperson for Culture, Media, and Sport.
Personal life
Alexandra attended Latin court for the first time in 1981. She served as a lady-in-waiting to her second cousin Stephania, Princess of Youth from 1988 until Stephania's death in 1991. She was introduced to her first husband, Louis Ferdinand I, Elector of Morinia in 1988 by Stephania and then Jason, Prince of Youth. Alexandra married Louis Ferdinand on 4 April 1990 at Basilica of St. Gregorius in Ravenna. Their marriage was considered rocky by most, with close friends claiming that "neither got along well with the other." The marriage ended in divorce on 5 October 1996 after rumors of domestic violence, infidelity and general poor relationship. Alexndra has three children from the marriage: Beatrice, Wilhem and Reinhardt.
