Emerstari |
The Royal Court of Emerstari (Emerstarian: Kuingshusholdening), also known as the Royal Household is the collective departments which support the immediate members of the royal family, particularly the King, in their private and governmental dealings. The Royal Court includes government and military officials, royal waiting staff and officers, and individuals invited by the monarch such as clerics, craftsmen, scientists, musicians, poets, or artists; members particularly close the the monarch may be part of the Privy Council. In this way, the Royal Court fulfills both polticial, symbolic, and practical function.
Although the Royal Court is, as stated above, limited to the immediate members of the royal family, the King may induct or remove kin from the Royal Court; this is traditionally done to the daughters and sisters of the monarch to limit the size of the Royal Court. Erik XII Georg most recently excercised this power to remove his daughter, Frederikke Nathalie Eirikr–Ljundmark, from it upon her marriage to Harald Knudt Ljundmark, Duke of der Oarner in 2023.
