Hussar Brigade Combat Team

Wargear

While each each unit is equipped with more specialized gear due to its designated composition and the mission it has been assigned, there are some items that are considered to be universal during combat operations - especially among the rank and file infantrymen. Interceptor Body Armor, which was issued to all ground troops in the Imperial army, has since been replaced by the more protective Verteidiger Tactical Vest Series; the domestically produced Enhanced Combat Helmet continues to serve as the primary protective head wear of Imperial soldiers. Other standard issue items include: a Wolf Fang Multipurpose Tool, a two week supply of "Doggy Bag" MRE Ration Packs, a set of Mark 5 Multi-Purpose Grenades, an entrenching tool, a tactical flashlight, a bedroll, a combat knife, personal hygiene items, and an extensive list of other items not covered here.

While there are few rules in regards to the literature that an infantrymen carries with him onto the battlefield, aside from the guarantee of access to religious works, it is expected every Imperial soldier possess a copy of the The Imperial Soldier's Omnibus at all times. This text is first issued to every recruit during their stint in basic training, and it is expected that they will carry with them throughout the course of their service unless it is lost or destroyed. The Omnibus serves as a guide and reference point for all servicemen, and is updated every few years in order to reflect the constantly changing region that the Empire is located in. Things covered in the book include: an introduction by the current Imperator, a list of military laws and regulations, a guide as to how weapons and attire should be cared for, a detailed explanation of the military's command structure, a vehicle identification guide, instructions for basic battlefield healthcare, and finally several chapters of inspirational quotes from military officers and prayers that were drafted by the Cardinal of the Shalumite capital.
