Battle of Uhansi
The Battle of Uhansi (22 July - 10 August 1822) was fought between the Lucio-Galbadian forces under the command of General Johannes Vandemeer against the Sikh and Aurucolian forces under Flórián Székely de Kisbátor.
With Kisbátor keen on retaining his foothold in Northern Indiae, Humeray sent in Vandemeer's forces to attempt to retake the Ganges Region prior to march to Delhia. The battle would see the last attempt by the Coalition to attempt to retake the Ganges Region. However, the defensive advantage that Kisbátor had in the region still prevailed, despite Vandemeer sending in repeated attacks. On 10 August 1822, Vandemeer called off his attack and retreated from Uhansi.
While despite the Sikhs and Aurucolians gaining a victory, the battle would prove to be a strategic opportunity for Humeray by proceeding to install roadblocks and destroying bridges that led to the Ganges region at Nalanda and Uhansi, waging an intense psychological war. The last bridge on the Ganges that separated the was located at Delhia and Kisbátor would immediately move his forces in an attempt to prevent the fall of the city. Despite Kisbátor and Dobos' rapid movements, Humeray would force his way to Delhia through the city of Gwalior, where Humeray pushed Kisbátor's army back to the Ganges Region and closed the last main road that led to Central Indiae from the Ganges Region. By October, Humeray arrived at Delhia by the time that Kisbátor had already established defences.
