Nibelheim-Saxe-Hanover officially, the Commonwealth of Nibelheim-Saxe-Hanover or simply Nibelheim is a sovereign country in Europa. It neighbors the Atlantic Federation to the East; the United Kingdom to the north and the Holy Galbadian Empire to the south.

In the 11th Century, it was known as the Holy Nibelheimian Empire with its lands reaching as far as Galbadia. However, a series of struggles for power caused disunity and many provinces declaring self-independence. From that time up until the early 17th century, the country itself was divided into several principalities, baronies, electorates, provinces, and independent regions. In 1701, Elector Friedrich I of Nibelheim sought to reunite these provinces. By 1727, the nation started to become recognized as one of the powerful nations in Europa. In 1737, Great Lucis claimed the regions of Hanover, which became the spark that ignited the Lucio-Nibelheimian War of 1738, which ended with the Treaty of Tristainia, prompting Hanover to become the first Lucian colony in Nibelheim. In 1790, a series of successions sparked a crisis, known as the The 10 Troubled Years in which Nibelheim itself fell into disunity and confidence in the ruling government waned. In 1799, the Atlantic Federation pursued its goal of annexing Nibelheim into the Federation. The War of the German Confederation ignited with the Atlantic Federation invading the eastern seaboards of Nibelheim. The crisis had left the Nibelheimian Army incapable and that the Lucis Colonial Company of Nibelheim was the only professional land army in Nibelheim that time. This prompted the Principality of Hesse and the Duchy of Saxe-Coborg-Gotha and Holstein to side with the Lucians, in effect, dragging the Lucis Empire into the war. The war ended with the Lucians emerging victorious and the Treaty of Coberg, in which the Atlantic Federation withdrew all attempts to annex the island and Nibelheim became a Lucian colony.

For the next decades, a period of economic growth prospered in Nibelheim. English became the 2nd most spoken language in Nibelheim while Nibelheimian remained as the official language of the colony. Systems of governance were also given and feudalism was abolished. Taxes were controlled and distribution of the land was generously implemented.

Today, Nibelheim has the 7th strongest economy within the Commonwealth of Nations. Apart from being a Commonwealth realm, the country is also a member of the International Red Cross Association.
