The House of Assembly is the lower house of the Parliament of Anikatia of Anikatia. The Legislative Council is the upper house. The House of Assembly has 440 members, elected for a four-year term, but may be abridged if an early election is called. According to the Constitution, the powers of both houses are nearly equal, with the consent of both houses needed to pass legislation. Bills appropriating money can only be introduced in the lower house and thus only the party with a majority in the lower house can govern.

Notes:
1. The Party of Socialist Unity and Communist People's Restoration Party did not exist prior to 2001, both were formed following the collapse of the single state party rule under the now defunct Communist People's Party.
2. The Greens Party was not known as such until its reformation in 2001, prior it was known as the Social Democratic Party.
3. The Free Anikatia Movement existed during the 2001-2002 transitional period in wake of the lack of any proper opposition parties.
4. The Communist People's Party was banned until the 1967 Socialist Revolution and following the collapse of the single state party rule the party was dissolved and broke into The Party of Socialist Unity and Communist People's Restoration Party.
5. Due to the lack of lack of any proper opposition parties during the 2001-2002 transitional period the majority of the opposition was led by independents.
6. 13th House of Assembly was abolished before it could serve its terms due to the 1967 Socialist Revolution.
