Fallon Chapman (born January 14, 1984) is a Zamastanian lawyer and politician serving as the governor of Jade province since 2018. She is a member of the Green Liberal Party. The daughter of Yuaneze immigrants, she was the first Ausianan-Zamastanian woman to serve on the Huntington Park City Council. Chapman was elected governor in 2018, winning with 64% of the vote, becoming the first woman first Ausianan-Zamastanian elected to serve as the governor of the province.
Chapman is considered a political progressive and a protégé of Leanne Dale. Dale was one of Chapman's professors in law school. Chapman later endorsed Dale during her 2022 presidential campaign.
On the Huntington Park City Council, Chapman authored several ordinances that were enacted: preventing the city from contracting with health insurers that discriminate in their coverage against transgender individuals, protecting wetlands, supporting adaption to climate change, a plastic bag ban, adopting Community Choice Aggregation, and providing for paid parental leave to municipal employees. She also partook in a successful effort to regulate short-term rentals. As governor, she has advocated fare-free public transportation and a municipal green energy program for the province. Chapman has spoken in favor of demilitarizing police departments and establishing an unarmed community safety crisis response system that would assume responsibility for nonviolent emergency service calls.
