Peter Younggrain (born December 2, 1963) is a Zamastanian businessman and politician who currently serves as the Governor of Alenchon since 2014. Prior to this he served as the Representative for Alenchon's 5th district. A member of the Blue Conservative Party, Younggrain's first act as governor was creating the provincial office of drug prevention, treatment and enforcement and tasking that office with tackling the overdose crisis. Younggrain has made attracting international investment and opening more overseas markets for Alenchon-produced goods a priority, emphisizing greater use of the ports of Anchorhead and Summerwood.
Younggrain is considered a centrist and a pragmatist, endorsing fiscally conservative policies but breaking from his party on many social issues such as immigration and gun control. Younggrain personally opposes abortion but has said he "will not try to change Alenchon's laws protecting women's rights to the procedure nor to limit access to contraception." Younggrain has canceled the federally funded Anchorhead-Alenchon Red Line project, instead choosing to reallocate money to road construction across the province.
