The Albarine Navy is the maritime and naval warfare arm of the Albarine Armed Forces. It is responsible for naval and amphibious operations. The Republic of Albarine Navy in its current form was established on November 21, 1860. Since the end of the World War, the Albarine navy had concentrated its efforts on building naval forces to counteract hostilities of aggressive nations in Southern Adula. As Albarine's economy grew, the Navy was able to locally build larger and better equipped fleets to deter aggression, to protect the sea lines of communication, and to support the nation's foreign policy. As part of its mission, the Albarine Navy has engaged in several peacekeeping operations since the turn of the 21st century. The Albarine Navy aims to become a blue-water navy in the 2020s.
History
Organization
The Albarine Navy shares the organization model of its two sister services – the Army and the Air Force. Each of them consists of a Headquarters, a Force and a Force Support. For historical traditions the Force of the Albarine Navy is called Fleet and the two terms are used interchangeably. At the head of the Navy is a General Admiral (a four-star rank reserved for the Chief of the Navy and the Chief of the Armed Forces, when the latter position is held by a naval officer), denominated Admiral Chief of the General Staff of the Navy. Counterintuitive to this official designation he holds authority over all three components of the service and the officer, who actually functions as Chief of Staff is a three-star Admiral, designated Admiral Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Navy.
