Aberystwyth is the second-largest city in Cadair with a population of 7.2 million people. It is a major port city located on Antomasse Bay and is up the coast from the capital and largest city of Cardiff. The city was founded as a fishing and logging settlement in the 600s, and was the historical center of Cadair's politics and administration for hundreds of years. Aberystwyth grew into West Adula's largest city. The arrival of the 20th century brought a convergence of economic factors that fueled rapid growth in Aberystwyth, including a burgeoning port and railroad industry and the Tenby oil boom. In the mid-20th century, the city's economy diversified, as it became home a broad industrial base, in energy, manufacturing, aeronautics, and transportation. Leading in healthcare sectors and building oilfield equipment, Aberystwyth is a major global city and hosts many international corporations and organizations. The city hosted the 2005 World Cup
