The cultural zone of Ottonia and Draakur is home to a robust rail network that serves as a backbone of travel and freight transportation, and thus an integral component of the Ottonian economy. Although the rail systems of the various Ottonian republics are directly run and administered by their respective republic state agencies, they overall coordinate closely with the Ottonian Federal Railway Administration, which also runs the federal Inter-Republic Railway System.

Federation of Ottonian Republics

All non-municipal rail services in the FOR fall under the administration of the Ottonian Federal Rail Authority (OFRA), usually paired with a Republic-side agency that assists in the administration of each regional service. OFRA also directly administers the Inter-Republic Railway System (IRRS) and the Ottonian National Railway Guard that provides security and law enforcement along the rails.

The Inter-Republic Rail System is an express inter-city high-speed railway network in Ottonia, administered by OFRA. Primarily operating between the capitals of the various Ottonian Republics, with limited stops at major towns in between.

The primary line connects Aldhuld to Koppenhulm, with branch lines linking Spaal, Kaamburg, Dunnmaar, Corvik, Udunsfyurd, and Ubyeu to the main line and to adjacent capitals. As of Summer of 2022, lines to connect the capitals of the five new republics through infrastructure upgrades were underway. In addition, connections to Erishland and Sudemark's national networks were in place.
