Kim Ji-yeon (born March 6th, 1975) is a member of the Chamber of Representatives who served as Chair of the Malgravean Technology Party between 2006 and 2013.

Early life and career

Ji-yeon was born in Aurora on the 6th of March, 1975. In her early childhood, Ji-yeon was heavily involved in the Gabriel Narutowicz Pioneers and the Free Democratic Youth (Malgrave) becoming involved in efforts to integrate respective youth organisations that were part of the Socialist Republic and National Workers' Republic.

In 1993 Ji-yeon enrolled as a student at the Aurora Institute of Political Science and simultaneously took up service with the Royal Navy, with a posting a the naval academy in Aurora. Ji-yeons efforts at this time were focused on aiding the navy to shoulder the economic burden of the Lost Decade without losing operational efficiency, and her work to increase the efficiency of operations on artificial islands form the basis of current thinking.

A flurry of resignations and retirements in the Technology Party led Ji-yeon to be selected as a candidate in the 2000 Malgravean General Election. It was a disaster of a campaign for the party but Ji-yeon was one of the candidates successfully elected to the Chamber of Representatives.

Ji-yeon quickly established herself as a spokesperson on defence issues, with a focus on increasing the technological capabilities of the Royal Navy. Her pressure is credited with aiding the development of railguns and the integration of magitech in the navy which has greatly benefited naval operations.

Chair of the Technology Party

After the resignation of Mirella Albrici in 2006, Ji-yeon was elected as Chair of the Technology Party. Ji-yeon took over from the Technology Party during a tough period for the party, as a result a majority of analysts consider her time in charge to be rather mixed, as she was unable to arrest the decline of the party in 2009 Malgravean Emergency General Election, although, she did better compared to pre-election predictions and was able to put together a vision that wasn't wholly dependent on academic review.

Ji-yeon's failure is seen as a failure to detatch itself from its dependence on Helen Magnus, however, her leadership has been credited with partially assisting the partial recovery seen in the 2014 Malgravean General Election.

Personal life

Beyond politics, Ji-yeon has a small MalTube channel in which she reviews products from MalTec and other electronic items from across Mystria.

Ji-yeon is married and has one daughter.
