The Kurultai (literally "gathering") is a traditional Mongol legislative format which is today the unicameral legislature of the Mongol Uls. The Kurultai is composed of 100 members. 66 are elected by party-list proportional representation in multi-member constituencies. 33 represent the Mongol Clans, while the Bogd Gegeen holds a seat ex-officio.

Conventions of the Kurultai
A Kurultai was traditionally convened for matters of great importance and magnitude, such as the election of a Khan. Today, a Kurultai is convened every two years, immediately after national elections. A Kurultai is named after the location in which it is convened; for example, the Hovd Kurultai was convened in the city of Hovd. Thus far, four all-Mongol conventions of the Kurultai have been convened (other, non-"ecumenical" Kurultai conventions have been held, for example in the Golden Horde).
