Omid Yusuf Afshar (born 27 October 1972) was a Qalehi professional footballer who played as a midfielder for Qal'eh National League club Dahrzor United. Widely regarded as the best player in Qalehi footballing history, Afshar is the most-capped player in both the domestic league and the international team. Afshar's senior career spanned 17 years, for which he is best remembered for scoring the 87th minute winning goal in the 1995 Copa d'Aeia final against Newrey, which Qal'eh won 2-1. After the Copa, Afshar won FFA Player of the Year in 1995.

Born in Kyderabad, Afshar developed a keen eye for football watching the Liga Premiére, and supported Olympique de Lotrique from a young age. Afshar began playing for his local Sunday league club in the run-down districts of inner Kyderabad, and was noticed by Al-Nadja scouts who often roamed the city's slums. Afshar began playing for the Al-Nadja youth program in 1979, when he was aged 7, and would stay at the club until he was 14, when his family migrated to Dahrzor and he joined the Dahrzor United youth program until 1990.
