Since its independence, Daobac has pursued a "free and active" philosphy as its overarching guide in foreign policy, as a result, Daobac maintains friendly relations with its immediate neighbors, members of the Association of Ozeros Nations and the rest of the wider global community. The country is a strong advocate of Ozerosi & Kayatman regionalism and stability, and to achieve these ends plays an active role within the AON. Daobac works closely with its regional neighbors and supports various initiatives that promotes security, stability and unity within its immediate region. The country is well known for its expertise in the fields of environmental, aerospace and chemical, allowing to export key technologies easily due to its strategic geographic position at the Kayatman archipelago. Due to geographic reasons, friendly relations with both Kajera and Pulau Keramat are considered paramount. At the same time however the country also maintain good diplomatic relations with other powers such as Tsurushima, Belfras and Onekawa-Nukanoa. In the modern era and through the Daobac Space Corporation (DSC) and the country's membership in the International Aeronautical Union (IAU), Daobac has been able to effectively enlarge its importance among the international community. Daobac also hosts the headquarters of the IAU, located in its capital city of Congvat.

Economy

  • TBD

History

  • Historically the two nations share a common language and heritage as the territories of Sonha were previously settled by the Daoan Conclave between 200 CE until the 11th century.
  • When the Daoan Conclave was incorporated by the Tahamajan Empire, its holdings in the Ochran mainland were stripped away from the Conclave and administered directly by the Tahamajans.
  • Post-Tahamaja's collapse in th 14th century the Shenzou Empire, taking advantage of the chaos and uncertainty of the era, quickly moved to annex the Conclave's previous holdings along Ochran's southern coast.
  • The briefly re-established Second Daoan Conclave laid claim to its holdings but were unable to take any action to reassert control as they were preoccupied with a rapidly growing conflict with the Kajerans who also wished to conquer the the entirety of the Kayatman archipelago.
  • Placed under two different overlords, the Daoans developed slight variations in their language and cultural practices throughout the centuries
  • During the First and Second Cross-Strait Wars the Trong Dynasty, a tributary Daoan state of the Shen, contributed forces to the Shen invasions though ultimately failed to subjugate Daobac.
  • Daobac's intelligence agency, the Office of Naval Intelligence, has allegedly carried out clandestine operations within Sonha in the hopes of inciting a regime change that would be more amicable to Daoan interests and sovereignty.
  • Combined with Sonhan ambitions to annex the Yunxian exclave of Nangang where Daobac has vested economic interests, has been a source of friction between the two nations.

  • Previously the former Shenzou Empire has attempted to subjugate and annex Daobac during the First and Second Cross-Strait Wars in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
  • However in 1943 the Shenzou Empire collapsed and was replaced with the Republic of Yunxia.
  • Daobac supported Yunxia's retainment of the Nangang region to remain under its control, largely to preserve Daoan economic interests in the region. Since then the Nangan region has remained under Yunxian control as an exclave.
  • In the modern era, Daoan conglomorates has established a large presence in the Nangang exclave to extract and refine raw resources.
  • This has been a source of contention amongst the Seuhnghoi population who saw foreign investment as one of the primary causes of the social & economic disparity in Kra society.

  • Tsurushiman pop-culture, primarily video games and animated series, are extremely popular in Daobac.
  • Tsurushima has reciprocated by providing key technical assistance in the development of various warships for the Daoan Congressional Republic Navy.

History
Tsurushima was among the first nations, alongside Kajera and Pulau Keramat, to recognize Daoan independence in 1845. Eager for a new ally in the region Tsurushima offered various development aid to the nascent country which came primarily in the form of foreign direct investment. Daobac on the other hand, was on the search for a potential benefactor to help grow itself. As a result of these two factors, Daobac has historically shown preference to purchase Tsurushiman technology & goods though this preference has been reduced to some extent since the inception of the AON.

The subsequent Hanaki War resulted in Pulaui forces invading and occupying parts of Daobac. After the war however steps were taken by the Daoan government to repair its relation with one of its largest neighbors. A non-aggression pact was signed in 19XX, followed by various free trade agreements throughout the mid 20th century which helped ease tensions between the two countries.
