Alexandra Sulpicia, DSM CI (Fausta Sulpicia Alexandra Constantina Sophia; b. 18 December 1978) is a Latin politician and sitting Senator for Lussonia. She currently serves as Aedile and First Magistrate. Since joining the Senate in 2007 by-election, she earned her first frontbench position in 2014 becoming Magistrate for the Treasury. She served as a member of the Castellum Assembly for Appia Palpatina seat from 2002 to 2006, making her the youngest person to serve on the assembly.

Sulpicia was born near Utica, in the village of Pons Augusta Aemelii, as the youngest child of John Sulpicius, 4th Count of Utica. She earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science and studied in the post-graduate law program at the prestigious Galatia College at the University of Haenna. At the age of 23 she briefly practiced at firm in Castellum, before decided to run for the Castellum Assembly; an office she held until her run for Senate in 2007. In 2003, she married Latin nobleman and Castellum-based barrister, Victor Driscoli, together they have two children. Sulpicia has quickly risen to a leadership position during her early political career, entering a frontbencher role within her first seven years as a senator.

Early life and eduction

Sulpicia was born on 18 December 1978 at Villa Antonae, Pons Augusta Aemelii, in the county of Karchidonia, the fourth child of the Propraetor of Karchidonia John Sulpicius, 4th Count of Utica and Maria Pilati. Her father had served under Jason Claudius, 36th Duke of Adrianople as a Camp Prefect during the Social War, while her mother was the third wife of Utica. She has two older half-brothers, an older half-sister and younger full-sister. Her father served as Propraetorof Karchidonia from 1967 through 1997 and again from 2000 until his retirement from public life in 2002.

She states her childhood was typical of a Latin upbringing. She is multi-lingual, holding fluency in Audonian, Imbrosian, and Rhegedian, as well as her native Latin. Her parents were both practicing Catholics, and she identifies herself as a devout Fabrian Catholic.

Education

Sulpicia was educated by private tutors for her primary schooling and St. Theodora's School for Girls for her first years of formal eduction and secondary school. Sulpicia finished first in her secondary school class, earning a scholarship at Castellum College, Castellum, where she studied Political Science and graduated within three years. In her second year of schooling, Sulpicia earned an internship at the Palace of Augustus with the Imperial Offices, in which she worked in the Private Secretary's office. Following her tertiary education, she attended a year long post-graduate law degree program at Galata College at the University of Haenna.

While attending Castellum, Sulpicia became a student member of the Conservative Party, and chaired many student events. She states that both her experiences at university and upbringing of her father contributed to her political beliefs and desire to pursue a career as a public servant.

Political Career

Castellum Assembly Member

In 2002, Sulpicia ran for the Appia Palpatina seat in the Castellum Assembly receiving 43.8% of the popular vote. She was then appointed as the Mayor of Castellum's Youth Ambassador, a newly created role which was seen as being a replacement post for the Deputy Mayor for Young People, a post left vacant since 1998.

Sulpicia served in the Assembly for one full term, choosing not to run for re-election in 2006.

Senate

2010 election

During the 2010 general election, Sulpicia was attacked by her primarily opponent, Thomas Erucius, for infidelity, claiming that Sulpicia cheated on her husband with her chief of staff; however, he never supported these claims with evidence. He later asserted that Sulpicia was only provided favorable treatment over the course of her career due to her status as a noblewoman and unscrupulous actions. He eventually claimed that she was involved in an affair during her time as an intern at Imperial Offices at the Palace of Augustus. Erucius was eventually censured by Imperial Offices and the administrative offices of the Praetorian Guard for violation of lèse-majesté laws. He would eventually drop out of the election prior to election day after only polling near 5% after being censured and threatened with arrest for violation of lèse-majesté. He later apologized to both Sulpicia and Emperor Jason VI Augustus for what he called "a severe lack of judgement and common decency...brought on by the desire to win;" in 2015 he later admitted the allegations were an attempted smear campaign and were not based on any evidence.

Personal Life

Sulpicia is a member of the patrician Sulpicii clan, and traces her ancestry to Publius Sulpicius Camerinus, who served as a general and Claudii loyalist during the Retreat to Adrianople in the 11th century. Her father, John Sulpicius, 4th Count of Utica, was first appointed Propraetor of Karchidonia by Empress Diana Augusta in 1977. In 2003, Sulpicia married Victor Driscoli, a Latin nobleman of Rhegedian descent. The pair first met while practicing at the same law firm. Together the couple has three children: John, Samuel and Gabrielia.
