State elections are scheduled to be held on 13 October 2022 in Novalia to elect the State Assembly, with the largest party or coalition forming the next state administration. Elections for commune-governments and municipalities will be held at the same time. There are more than 6.5 million registered voters in Novalia for this election, making it the second largest voting demographic in Etruria after Veratia.

The incumbent government in Novalia is led by Franjo Sarič as leader of Onward Novalia, the largest party in the State Assembly. Sarič has served as Prefect since 2017, though Onward Novalia has been in power since 2013. The Social Democratic Party, the party of opposition is led by Izidor Augustinčić and has held that position since 2020. Other parties with seats in the State Assembly competing in the election include Popular Renewal, Rights and Dignity and the Social Party of the Third Order. The election begins with a surge in popular support for the SDP, forcing a rebranding of the ruling party, from the Farmers and Workers Union to Onward Novalia, as well as the formalisation of the Patria alliance. This is the first state election since 2016, in which the Tribune Movement will compete under the Patria coalition.
