Political parties

Patria (Homeland) is a formal right-wing political alliance in Etruria, currently between the Tribune Movement and Farmers and Workers Union. It was established in mid-2016 in the lead up to the 2016 general election, where both parties agreed to compete together. The resulting victory led to the creation of a coalition government comprised of both parties which held power from 2016 to 2018. Following a series of electoral and constitutional reforms, the 2018 federal election saw significant gains by the Tribune Movement enabling them to govern alone, however, the alliance was renewed and the FWU has voted to pass every piece of Tribune legislation since. The alliance has proven considerably useful to both parties, as their combined seat shares has enabled the easy passage of legislation deemed controversial by commentators.

In 2020, the alliance was again renewed in wake of the Tribune Movement government receiving the backing of the FWU for a second round of electoral reforms.

Internal factions

Though the two parties share common ground on multiple issues, there remain internal factions within both and collectively within Patria. These primary factions can be identified as such:

• National Consolidation Group: A cross-party faction of moderates, which fall mostly within the confines of social conservatism. This group advocates for traditional values, family values, but also fiscal conservatism, agrarianism (the protection of Etrurian farmers from foreign competition, for the part of Tribune members), paternalism and for a limited approach to political and social reform. This faction is led by Davor Krstičević, the leader of the Farmers and Workers Union and Prefect of Novalia. The leading figure of this faction in the Tribune Movement, is Finance Minister Leandro Laezza.
• New Sotirian Democracy: A smaller faction that sits to the left-wing of both parties and is defined by its republicanism, civic nationalism and Sotirian Democracy. It advocates for a social market system and a greater focus on the working class, in relation to global trade developments and Etruria's public services. This faction is mostly confined to the backbenches of both parties.
• United Right of the Republic: The radical, religious and hard right-wing faction which crosses both parties, but is the dominant faction in the Tribune Movement. The "United Right" faction is the primary source of right-wing populism, neo-nationalism and Etrurian nationalism. This faction advocates for dramatic reforms of Etruria's economy and political system to further empower what it calls the "patriotic classes" and is vehemntly opposed to social democracy and liberalism. The "United Right" shares many social positions as the National Consolidation Group, especially on matters relating to abortion, opposition to same-sex marriage and traditional family values. This faction is centred around President Francesco Carcaterra and most of his cabinet ministers.
