Alseeria, officially the Divine Republic of Alseeria, is a sovereign state on the world of Anteria. The country is on the continent of Atracia, and borders the nation of Arkatzia to the south and Viha to the north. Alseeria has a significantly large coastline, and almost all of it's inhabitants live on or close to it. The capital and largest city is Muraqaba, which serves as a political, cultural, and economic capital.
Alseerian history dates back to a time when it did stuff. Then it become independent. Later it fought a prolonged war with Arkatzia, resulting in thousands of deaths on both sides and ending in a military stalemate. After the war, Alseeria went through a period of economic and industrial growth, brought on by a massive increase in oil trade. This period ended in about 2013 during the great recession, and hasn't fully recovered as of 2019.
Alseeria is a totalitarian one-party state, effectively a dictatorship governed along fundamentalist lines. The ultraconservative religious movement within it's ethnic religion has been called "the predominant feature of Alseerian culture", with its global spread largely financed by the oil and gas trade. The nation also boasts what has sometimes been referred to as a "disproportionately large" military, with almost 13% of it's GDP being spent to the military, a higher percentage than any other country, as well as enforcing mandatory military service for all it's citizens.
