Helmut Rommel; 16 April 1931 – 13 June 2006) was an Besmenian film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is frequently cited as one of the most influential filmmakers in Besmenian cinematic history. His films cover a wide range of genres. Between 1957 and 2004 Rommel produced, wrote and directed 18 feature films.
Life
Rommel was born in Könlenz in 1931, where he also spent his childhood. From 1942 to 1948 he attended the Olaf-Mutsgut-Regelschule in Könlenz. He received average grades, but displayed a keen interest in literature, photography, and film from a young age, and taught himself all aspects of film production and directing after graduating. After graduating, he worked for the BRF until 1957. Rommel also shot a few reports for the BRF. With the money he earned, Rommel financed his first feature film, The Murderers in Us.

Helmut Rommel's films contain elements of realism and dark humor. His films Most of his films contain violence that is almost bloody. Also, moments of shock can often be seen in each of his films.
Most of his films are adaptations of novels.
