Khotoi

The Khotoi or Khotoi Culture were the earliest known human inhabitants of Syara for which there remains written records of. Between 3,000 to 2,000 BCE the Khotoi settled the lands west of the Matra Mountains in Ruvelka. They introduced agriculture to Syara around this time, forming the first known settlements and villages across central Syara and Ruvelka. Between 2,000 to 1,000 BCE the Khotoi were gradually pushed westward further into the Galanian Valley and the coast of the Nuandan Ocean by the arrival. This migration was likely driven by the arrival of the Ruvelkans, Karvelebi, and Hayern to central Ruvelka, themselves pushed by the Erani out of central Siduri.

The origin of the Khotoi is not certain. The only existing archaeological evidence suggests a central Siduri origin, but the existence of root words for "boat" and "sea" strongly indicates an origin from beyond the Sundering Sea. The Khotoi language and tribes would go on to form most of the ancient Syara tribes of Galania, Makedon, and Scitaria. The Khotoi introduced written language, pottery, and agriculture to Syara, as well as establishing the earliest known settlements in Syara.
