The Liberal Party was founded by Patrick Dazeje in 1983, from the merger of several successor parties from the Social Liberation Movement of Carucere. The party's ideological tradition originates from Jean Préval's personal interpretation of liberalism during his Presidency from 1962 to 1974. It is first party in the country since the fall of the Movement to have a stable base of support across different ethnic groups. The party's ideology has been referred to as liberal, social democratic, liberal socialist, and market socialist. Since the 1990s, the party has become a dominant force in Carucerean politics. It is the current ruling party of Carucere.

Founded in 1973, following the sudden collapse of the Social Liberation Movement of Carucere, the party represents the Catholic population in Carucere. Although the party is officially nonsectarian, the party has significant ties with the Catholic Church in Carucere and is often considered to be the political wing of the Church in Carucere. The party occupies a position straddling the political right in Carucere, advocating for a combination of Sotirian democratic, socially conservative, and trade unionist policies following Catholic philosophy. It is currently the second largest party in Carucere and the national opposition.

Formed by a merger of several Bahio-Carucerean political parties, today the party represents the Bahian population in Carucere. The party is ideologically diverse, consisting of the secular conservative liberal People's faction and the religious Amendist Sotirian democratic Democratic faction. In addition a sizable minority espouses Estmerophilia and promotes greater ties with Estmere.
