The '''People's Alliance''' (Xiaodongese: '''人民同盟'''; ''Rénmín tóngméng'') is a [[Xiaodong|Xiaodongese]] political organisation. Having held it's first national congress in 2007, the People's Alliance is considered part of the {{wp|Tangwai movement|zaiwai movement}} (i.e an officially sanctioned pro-democracy group in the [[Legislative Council (Xiaodong)|Legislative Council]]) and since the dissolution of the [[Alliance for Democracy in Xiaodong]] is the largest of its kind in Xiaodong.

The People's Alliance traces its history back to the [[Committee for the Co-ordination of Democrats]] (民主人士协调委员会), a functional group within the Legislative Council that was one of the smaller zaiwai groups in the Legislative Council behind the [[Millennium Progressive Society]] (千年进步社). In 2007 following the collapse of the MPS the CCD merged with other zaiwai groups to form the People's Alliance under former {{wp|independent (politics)|independent politician}} [[Chen Xianfeng]]. 
 
The People's Alliance performed well in the 2010 elections, capturing a third of the elected seats in the Legislative Council (which was considered to be a victory for zaiwai parties). At the 2015 elections however the People's Alliance vote collapsed when the more radical zaiwai group, the Alliance for Democracy in Xiaodong, became the largest elected group in the Legislative Council. Following the start of [[Normalisation (Xiaodong)|Normalisation]] process when the Alliance was dissolved the People's Alliance became the largest of the zaiwai groups, although many high ranking members of the People's Alliance have been also arrested for supporting anti-government protests.
 
The People's Alliance ideologically are pro-liberal democratic and support political reform. Economically they tend to favour {{wp|privatisation}} and {{wp|marketisation}} alongside strong support for a welfare state, and tend to be centrist on social issues whilst hawkish on foreign policy.
