The Ọfà is an infantry fighting vehicle designed by _Inizatun_k’Rossi_subsid_ for use by the Rezese state defense forces, and was adopted widely by the security forces of the noble crivikeze and the ile-ise of the Nine Cousins.
Description
Armament
The primary weapon of the Ọfà is a 30mm autocannon furnished by YYY, with 256 rounds of ready to fire ammunition stored in-turret. Additional armament consists of two 7.62mm machine guns, one installed coaxially with the autocannon and the other mounted on top of the turret, as well as mountings for paired Vesper anti-tank missiles on the sides of the turret. Smoke grenade launchers are installed on the side hull and back of the turret. There are also hardpoints for mounting additional missile launchers on the side and top-rear hull, but these are rarely used in practice as they may interfere with the traversal of the main gun. Rifle ports on the sides and rear of the hull are also provided to allow carried troops to see and fire out if the need arises.
Power and Mobility
It is powered by an _Inizatun_k’Rossi_subsid_ diesel engine and can achieve speeds potentially in excess of 70km/h, as well as fording water between 1.25 and 1.75 meters. Additionally, it has six electric motors capable of conveying the Ọfà without the use of the engine at a lower speed, considered by the designers to be primarily for maneuvering outside of combat conditions, though they do offer an additional chance to withdraw if the engine is disabled or the Ọfà runs out of fuel.
The diesel engine will charge the batteries while operating, which allows the electric motor system to always be ready for use.
Protection
The Ọfà's hull is a welded aluminum alloy and is built to have armor plates added on as needed, for ease of replacement and to lower weight for low-threat use cases. The armor designed for this system comes from the _SR_MBT_ program and is a proprietary composite whose construction details are a secret. It is built to be able to defend against its own main gun, 30mm projectiles, in the forward arc. The modularity of the added armor was designed to suit further advances in materials technology, as well as the potential addition of active/reactive armor.
