The 1921 Lone Star Express Catastrophe was a railway accident that occured on March 19th, 1921, in downtown Austin, Texas, when CGTR's luxury 8 car night train—containing a baggage combine, diner, and observation car—the Lone Star Express, would be struck by CGTR's Golden Ember—a 12 car passenger train containing a diner and observation car—resulting in 49 casualties and 379 injuries.
