The 1981 Salamati presidential election took place on 25 April 1981 in Salamat.
After the coup d'état in May 1977, overthrowing Majid Khummam, the country was led by the Mushir Jalil Al Kharrabi with an iron fist. He still decided to keep the elections, to form an illusion of democracy in his regime.
The only participant was Jalil Al Kharrabi, representing the now-banned Party for a Socialist Salamat (PSS). He gained 100% of the votes.
