The 2015 Brytisc Embassy Siege took place on the 24th May 2015, in Santiago de Cuscatlan, capital city of Gran Cuscatlan, when members of the CADI paramilitary group, believed to be backed by local 17CV sympathisers, attacked the Brytisc embassy. The gunmen killed the two embassy guards after a firefight, before injuring Ambassador Margaret Latrell and kidnapping both her and Mr Daryl Wilson. Both civilians are missing, presumed dead.

Earlier in the month, Inyursta had been subject to an unauthorised documents leak which revealed, amongst other things, that several politicians in Inyursta privately held leftist sympathies. Following the murder of former Cuscatlani senator Alberto Cassias de la Plata by Cuscatlani militants, the Brytisc government offered asylum to leftist sympathisers from Inyursta.
None of the named individuals managed to reach Brytisc soil, but one Senator Lanson Sãorules, a right-wing politician accused of misuse of government funds, did make it to Brytene. Senator Sãorules was murdered whilst in a Brytisc military facility. His aide, Mr Sourez, was also shot dead, either in cold blood or after assassinating the Senator (the incident is still a matter of dispute between Inyursta and Brytene: see Sãorules murder investigation).
Prelude
A man claiming to be Senator Diego Rodrigues, along with his alleged wife, arrived at the Brytisc embassy in Santiago de Cuscatlan at approximately 0700AM local time on the morning of the 24th of May. The man at the embassy later revealed himself to be Leonce de Jérendé, 'Leonce the Leopard', a CADI militia leader. He was in possession of Senator Rodrigues' passport, which afforded him entrance to the embassy.
Timeline
Attack
The attack began when a modified CADI humvee rammed through the front gates of the embassy grounds. Present at the embassy at the time were Ambassador Maggie Latrell, Mr Daryl Wilson, Sergeant James West and Marine Arthur Gordon of Brytene, along with Leonce de Jérendé and an unidentified female CADI operator.
The only evidence available from this point on is Fleet recordings of the voice chatter between Sergeant West and Marine Gordon, along with a stream from Ambassador Latrell's SlatePad. Most analysts agree that Marine Gordon was killed during an exchange of fire with snipers to the south of the embassy, which caused the explosive damage visible in the still above and resulted in the death of at least one 17CV operative, whilst Sergeant West engaged CADI operatives in and around the embassy and killed or injured five attackers before being shot dead in the same area as Private Gordon. An explosion indicative of a fragmentation grenade marks the end of automatic gunfire approximately seventy seconds after the attack began.
Civilians captured
During the firefight, the SlatePad stream shows the two Brytisc civilians and the two undercover CADI operatives moving out into the street behind the embassy, where they encounter Sara Silva, the local intern hired by the Embassy. Her vehicle appears to be hit by gunfire and disabled, at which point the group are surrounded by CADI militia who let Silva escape whilst handcuffing Mr Wilson.
A standoff then results in both Ambassador Latrell and Commandante Galvan receiving gunshot wounds, and the Ambassador and Mr Wilson are then taken into custody by the CADI militia. Ambassador Latrell's cry, "GLADLY INTO THE STORM", has become a popular phrase in Brytene since the incident.
Natalya Penelope Jezek Vasquez of the CADI soon transmitted a video of demands, asking for $50 million USD in hard cash in return for the safe exchange of the hostages. Brytene responded, releasing ISD Agent Melendez along with the ransom money, but Melendez was intercepted and the money appropriated by Cuscatlani coastguards.
Death of Darryl Wilson
After the Cuscatlani government seized the payment and declined to transmit it to CADI, a video released by CADI shows Natalya Vasquez abandoning the two civilians in the jungles of Cuscatlan, firing a rifle at them after they have moved off-camera. The pair are missing, presumed dead.
Aftermath and reactions

Brytene - At the time of the attack, two ISD agents from Inyursta happened to be in Brytene investigating the murder of Senator Lanson Sãorules. These two men were immediately apprehended based upon information gleaned during the attack. One agent resisted and was shot dead by Skeppare Catamount. The other was released sometime later along with the ransom payment for the two captured Brytisc civilians, but the Cuscatlani government seized the money.
Meanwhile, the Gran Cuscatlan embassy in Lundene was surrounded and the Ambassador was ordered to vacate the premises and leave the country.
Inyursta - The Inyurstan National Chief of Police, Vidali de Ruise, condemned the attack, but refused to "risk the lives of my own men and women to save [the hostages]".
