Description
Variants
ANVIL is operated in two length profiles and two width profiles, in three configurations: Tactical (TAC-ANVIL), or Type 1; Strike (STK-ANVIL) or Type 2; and Short (S-ANVIL) or Type 1A. Tactical and Strike configurations are offered in modules consisting of 8, 16, 32, 48, and 64 cells, while Short configurations are offered in 6, 8, or 12.
Tactical ANVIL (TAC-ANVIL), or Type 1 in Meridonian service, is intended for small to mid-sized surface combatants to carry and launch self-defense munitions such as ESSM/ CADS-S short-range surface to air missiles or MSU-14 COSRO/RUM-139 VL-ASROC anti-submarine missiles. It is sized to allow for the quad-packing of shorter range missiles.
Strike ANVIL (STK-ANVIL), or Type 2 in Meridonian service, allows for the employment of longer-ranged surface to air munitions such as the CADS-M or SM-2/3, and for surface attack munitions such as the MSS-18 COSAC-S or UGM-109 Tomahawk cruise missiles, while also capable of accommodating smaller short-range missiles.
Short ANVIL (S-ANVIL), or Type 1A in Meridonian service, is intended for point-defense munitions such as single CADS-S/ESSM or Nulka decoys.
