Apelnisse is the capital of Constantio and the country's second-largest city after Norasa with a population of 1,349,346. It is located on the northeastern shore of Constantio along the Sotoa Sea, and it serves as the political hub of the country as well as an important business and cultural center and major port. Apelnisse is one of the oldest cities on Iearth, having been settled officially in 864. It gained capital status in 1782 when the government functions moved from Norasa. The name of the city changed from Constantinopolis to Apelnisse in 1927. Many of the largest Constantioan companies, media, and scientific institutions have their headquarters in the city. It is a city known for its diverse economy, high quality of living, museums, sporting, and entertainment events. Its main branches of economy are high-tech industries and the service sector.
