Brendan Dennadeer is a Zamastanian filmmaker, writer, and activist. He is most known for his work aimed at lowering the influence of corporations in the political process, including his leadership of the PoverTea movement (2018-19). During the movement, Dennadeer delivered a speech in which he said "corporations sit back and drink their tea while the rest of us sit in poverty," coining the popularly used phrase of the movement. Dennadeer was arrested twice during the course of the 10 month-long protests. He is also noted for his political and economic activism, and has served as a Messenger of Peace for the Coalition of Crown Albatross since 2008. On May 29th, 2021, Dennadeer announced his candidacy for President in the 2022 election as a member of the Progressive Party.
