Brudon (pronounced /bɾuːd(ə)n/ or locally /ˈ˩bɾuː.˥də/) is a province in eastern Vyvland. Large parts of the province are unindustrialised and rural, with hilly terrain being commonplace. The west of the province, past its capital and largest city of Fomiy, is flatter and borders on Vyvland's central plains. The province was mostly historically in South Vyvland, and is politically very conservative, with the highest support for the right-wing National Party, which holds almost a third of seats in the province's Provincial Diet.
The landscape of Brudon is characterised by hills and steep valleys in the west, with its easterly position away from warm Haddock Sea air currents causing frequent cold weather and snow, especially on the hills and low mountains. The town of Abocreyd, in the centre of the province's mountainous west, recorded the lowest temperature in the former South Vyvland, at -29.6 °C in 1964.
Brudon has a distinctive dialect of the Vyvlander language which has a pitch accent, although actual dialects vary between towns and valleys. The province's isolated nature means that inhabitants of Brudon are often stereotyped in popular culture as being yokel-ish or inbred.
