The Center Fleet, also known as Task Force Center, is the Cacertian Royal Navy’s primary fleet. Although it serves as part of Cacerta’s Home Fleet, its components are often utilized in the nation’s expeditionary task forces. Its main responsibilities include defending Cacertian interests in the Bara Sea as well as patrolling and defending the eastern entrance to the Sundering Sea; both consisting of major trade routes that are important to the economic health of Cacerta and other nations of eastern Tyran.
Established in 1920 following a reorganization of the Navy in the wake of the Divide War, the Center Fleet conducted extensive operations against Inner Sphere forces both at sea and on land under the command of Grand Admiral Andrea Doria. It participated in the Battle of the Sabri Sea and spent much of its time in the Western Theater supporting a combined Tennaite and Cacertian task force. In the modern era, elements of the Center Fleet participated in the Cacertian interventions during the FedCom Civil War and later Nalayan Civil War.
